UPCYCLED LIGHT

lamp in situ.jpg

BRIEF:

BRIEF:Think about the waste items that you are throwing away and challenge the value and potential of waste – both as a raw material and a design tool. No longer can you consider rubbish as worthless, but a rich resource of  unexplored      opportunity. Create a light out of waste material.

This lamp is made out of 20 used PET bottles. Each of the bottles is cut in half, folded and threaded to create a whole piece. No glue was used and the pieces are only joined by thread and wool.

The clear plastic bottles give the cloud like effect, creating a lightweight construction that can be hung above a dining room table or in a bedroom.
