internship
Giles Miller studio
As part of my placement year at university, I have secured a week internship at Giles Miller studio.

Giles Miller Studio creates innovative surfaces, architecture as well as sculpture. In each discipline the studio brings new meaning to spaces by celebrating the relationship between materials and light.
My internship took place in August 2019, at a time when they were in the process of moving their studios as well as rebranding. This meant that my experience at their studio was a bit different from their usual internships, but still allowed me to gain plenty of experience.

I have attended meetings with the team in which they were discussing their rebranding ideas, interior design of the new studio and any upcoming projects such as London Design Week.

My tasks included:

⦾ DEVELOPING MOOD BOARDS AND DESIGNS FOR THEIR UPCOMING PROJECT

⦾ RESEARCHING AND SOURCING MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS AND CREATING MOOD BOARDS FOR THEIR NEW STUDIO
⦾ TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SPACE OUTSIDE THEIR NEW STUDIO FOR THE PHOTOS TO BE USED IN DESIGN CONCEPTS
⦾ CREATING A POSSIBLE LAYOUT OF PHOTOS FOR THEIR NEW WEBSITE DESIGN
⦾ COUNTING AND ARRANGING THEIR TILE STOCK
